DC Stat

Responding to Mayor Gray’s challenge to cut waste, save money, and better serve the residents of the District of Columbia, DC Stat is one of many tools used by the Office of the City Administrator to improve performance and accountability.  Formerly known as CapStat, DC Stat is a focused, hour-long public process aimed at driving performance improvements and efficiencies within the government.

During the session, the Mayor and/or City Administrator and other senior staff from relevant agencies take an in-depth look at key issues. The sessions are designed as collaborative problem solving and strategic planning discussions.  Data for the sessions are often derived from the Performance Plans and key performance indicators for each agency, available for public view on the Track DC website.

This fiscal year, the Administration has already tackled such issues as:

  • Sustainable DC;
  • DPR Summer Program Readiness and Pool Openings;
  • 2012 One City Summer Youth Employment Program; and
  • OSSE/DOT Preparations for the Extended School Year.

In the weeks ahead, additional DC Stat sessions will tackle:

  • Heating Season Preparations for District Facilities;
  • School Opening Preparations;
  • Procurement Reform; and
  • D.C. Taxicab Reform.
