Friday, December 30, 2016

(WASHINGTON, DC) –  Today, DC Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey DeWitt released the revised revenue estimate for the FY 2017 Budget and Financial Plan. The forecast for local fund revenues is revised upward in FY 2017 by $66.6 million. In response to the new estimate, Mayor Bowser released the following statement:

“The December 2016 Revenue Estimates confirm that the District of Columbia's finances are in good order. We continue to manage our finances effectively while working to meet the needs of residents in all eight wards. Our financial forecast and bond ratings are the envy of jurisdictions throughout the United States, and this is just one more reason why Washington, DC deserves to be the 51st state.”
