The position of City Administrator was established by section 422(7) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act (D.C. Code § 1-204.22(7)). The City Administrator is appointed by the Mayor and is not subject to confirmation by the DC Council. Serving as the District Government’s chief administrative officer, the City Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations of the government, coordinates agency activities, and ensures the effective implementation of policies and programs.
