Mayor Bowser Delivers New Affordable Housing and Cut Ribbon at The Beacon Center in Ward 4

Mixed-use Complex Includes 99 Affordable Housing Units for Residents in the Georgia Avenue Corridor

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, March 13, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Residences at the Beacon Center, a mixed-use building featuring affordable housing units for families, veterans, persons transitioning from homelessness, and seniors in the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest, DC.

When the project broke ground in 2016, Mayor Bowser celebrated a then record $106 million investment in the Housing Production Trust Fund in year one of her Administration. The completion of this project, a collaborative effort between private entities and city agencies, marks the redevelopment of the historic Emory United Methodist Church and the expansion of housing and service-oriented amenities throughout the Georgia Avenue Corridor.
