Mayor Bowser to Deploy DC Snow Team This Evening to Treat Critical Areas Ahead of Potential Snow Fall

Tuesday, December 10, 2019
Residents Encouraged to Sign Up for Weather Alerts Through AlertDC

(Washington, DC) – With the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasting a dusting to less than one inch of snow to accumulate beginning early Wednesday morning, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced she will deploy the DC Snow Team this evening, December 10, at 11 pm to begin pretreatment of bridges, overpasses, and ramps throughout the District.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to register for important weather alerts from the District by signing up for AlertDC at alertdc.dc.gov. The DC Snow Team also encourages residents and commercial property owners to apply abrasives such as rock salt, de-icer, or non-clumping kitty litter to the sidewalks around their properties to reduce the possibility of icing and to prevent slips and falls.

To report any concerns, residents should call the Citywide Call Center by dialing 311.
