(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, and the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) are encouraging community members to support local restaurants during this year’s Winter Restaurant Week. Winter Restaurant Week begins on Monday, January 16 and special deals will be in place through Sunday, January 22.
“Winter Restaurant Week is a win-win – an opportunity to come back together with friends and family after the holidays and an opportunity to support local businesses during these colder, quieter winter months,” said Mayor Bowser. “We encourage the community to go to the website, look through all the great options, and make some reservations – either at your favorite spots or at places you’ve been wanting to try.”
Similar to Summer Restaurant Week, Winter Restaurant Week will be a week-long promotion of dine-in experiences as well as the RW-To-Go dinner meals and cocktail pairings that diners have grown to love. Participating restaurants will offer multi-course brunch and lunch menus for $25 per person, and multi-course dinner menus for $40 or $55 per person for on-premises dining. Many restaurants will also offer RW-To-Go dinner meals, available at two price points: $70 or $100 for two people and $140 or $200 for four people. There will be extended brunch offerings on Monday, January 16, which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
“Winter Restaurant week is a tradition that Washingtonians and businesses owners look forward to every year,” said Deputy Mayor John Falcicchio. “Restaurant week is more than a week-long promotion. It is an opportunity to reconnect with friends over a meal at some of the best restaurants in the city while supporting local restaurants that serve as economic drivers for our city.”
Residents can visit ramw.org/restaurantweek to learn more about participating restaurants, special menus, contact information, and hours of operation.
"On behalf of the entire restaurant industry, we thank Mayor Bowser for her support of our dynamic industry," said Shawn Townsend, President and CEO of RAMW. “Restaurant Week was created as an economic driver, encouraging loyal diners, newcomers, and visitors to our area to support our restaurants during a slower time for the industry. It has since evolved into a week locals and visitors alike look forward with something for everyone from expanded menu offerings, creative ways to dine out or stay in, and the addition of creative beverage pairings.”
New DC restaurants participating in Winter Restaurant Week include: Brickstones Kitchen and Bar, Ellington Park Bistro, EME Cafe & Bar, Fava Pot, JACKIE American Bistro, Le Clou, LIMA-Twist, Mi Vida 14th, Nama Ko, New Heights, Quattro Osteria, Rosemary Bistro Cafe, Surveyor, Takara 14, Tiki on 18th, Vagabond Kitchen and Bar, Wiseguy Pizza (Capitol Riverfront and Downtown), and Yardbird.
