(Washington, DC) On Tuesday, March 5, at 6 pm, Mayor Bowser will celebrate women leaders and mark Women’s Herstory Month at the 2019 Washington Women of Excellence Awards Ceremony. The award recipients will be recognized for their commitment to public service and significant contributions as pillars of empowerment for all DC residents.

Honorees include:

• Mikayla Sharrieff, India Skinner, and Bria Snell (S3 Trio)
• Dorothy Butler Gilliam, first African-American female reporter
• Marcia Greenberger, Founder, National Women’s Law Center
• Aza Nedhari, Founder and Executive Director, Mamatoto Village
• Caroline Pugh, Chief of Staff, NavHealth
• Kristy Toliver, Point Guard, Washington Mystics - Assistant Coach, Washington Wizards
