Mayor Bowser to Host Fourth of July Public Safety Briefing

Thursday, June 27, 2019

(Washington, DC) – On Friday, June 28, at 12 pm., Mayor Bowser will be joined by public safety officials from her administration and the federal government to discuss plans to keep residents and visitors safe during the upcoming Fourth of July celebration. The briefing will include information on keeping residents and visitors safe, road closures, watercraft restrictions, implementing citywide communication for emergency and non-emergency city services, and management of large crowds participating in the holiday celebrations.

Joining Mayor Bowser are officials from the Metropolitan Police Department, DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, District Department of Transportation, District Department of Public Works, WMATA, DC National Guard, National Park Service, United States Capitol Police, United States Park Police, United States Secret Service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the United States Coast Guard.
