Mayor Bowser to Kick Off 202Creates

Month-Long Celebration Highlighting the Creative Economy in the District

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Wednesday, August 30, at 7:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will celebrate the second annual 202Creates, a citywide effort to showcase the District’s diverse and vibrant creative community. Through an array of events throughout the month of September, 202Creates will highlight the artists, makers, tastemakers, and entrepreneurs who contribute to the city’s creative economy.

Led by DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) and DC Commission on Arts and Humanities (CAH), 202Creates engages residents through events and activities that feature the various talents of the DC creative community from television, film, music, arts, dance, fashion, cosmetology, culinary, tech, and much more. Throughout the year, 202Creates promotes and amplifies Washington, DC’s creative economy through digital media marketing, original television programming, and paid performance opportunities for DC’s creatives. To date, 202Creates has supported more than 4,000 events.
