(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at 10 am, Mayor Bowser will kick off the New Year by hosting her 5th annual #FITDC Fresh Start 5K. This year’s race will take place within the scenic Capitol Riverfront neighborhood and serves to encourage all District residents to make healthy lifestyle choices. This signature event is part of the Take Back #1 campaign, a citywide initiative to help DC return to the number one spot as the “Fittest City in America,” as ranked annually by the American College of Sports Medicine.
The race is free and open to people of all ages. Each participant will receive a #FITDC Fresh Start t-shirt, runner’s bib, and other giveaways.
