(Washington, DC) – Today, at 7 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will serve as Grand Marshall at the 33rd Annual 17th Street High Heel Race. The High Heel Race, the second largest annual LGBTQ community event in the District, draws thousands of residents and visitors to the Dupont Circle neighborhood to cheer costumed drag queens and participants as they race down the historic 17th Street, NW. The Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs collaborated with previous organizers, District agencies, and the LGBTQ community to coordinate and lead planning for the High Heel Race. Celebrations will begin at 5 pm, followed by the parade at 7 pm and the race at 9 pm.
