The District of Columbia Invites Residents to Express Condolences for the Late Marion S. Barry, Jr., at Wilson Building

Condolence Book to Be Available Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm

WHAT/WHO:  Mayor Vincent C. Gray; Council Chairman Phil Mendelson and the Council of the District of Columbia invite residents to sign an official Book of Condolence for Ward 8 Councilmember and former Mayor Marion S. Barry, Jr.

WHEN:  Tuesday, November 25th, Wednesday, November 26th and
              Friday, November 28th
              9:00 am – 5:30 pm

WHERE:  John A. Wilson Building
                First Floor Grand Foyer
               1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

BACKGROUND:  The Book of Condolence offers residents an opportunity to express their sympathy and appreciation for the life and legacy of the four-term Mayor and three-term Councilmember. To many, Mr. Barry represented hope and justice. He championed policies to help “the last, the lost and the least” – as he would often say. Mr. Barry loved the District of Columbia, and so many residents loved him.
