Mayor Bowser Releases 54 Month Progress Report

Progress Report Highlights How the Bowser Administration is Creating New Opportunities for Washingtonians in All Eight Wards and at Every Stage of Life

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Bowser released her 54 Month Progress Report. The report delivers on the Mayor’s commitment to transparency and accountability and provides a comprehensive summary of the Bowser Administration’s progress.

“The past 54 months have been memorable and we have many triumphant moments to look back on. But our work is not done,” said Mayor Bowser. “As a community, we should feel motivated by the progress we have already made and optimistic that the best is yet to come.”

The 54 Month Progress Report is broken down into sections on housing, jobs, opportunities at every stage of life, public safety and justice, resiliency, and amenities across all eight wards.

Examples of progress highlighted in the 54 Month Progress Report include:

  • More than 1,100 homes kept affordable using the Housing Preservation Fund
  • 45 percent decrease in family homelessness since launching the Mayor’s strategic plan to end homelessness
  • 24 percent decrease in citywide unemployment since January 2015
  • More than 800 childcare seats added since Spring 2018
  • More than 15,000 private security cameras paid for and deployed through the District’s innovative Private Security Camera Incentive Program
