Mayor Bowser will highlight local businesses and their efforts to hire DC residents. By getting more residents prepared for jobs, the Bowser Administration has remained focused on giving all residents a fair shot at pathways to the middle class.

  • On Tuesday, Mayor Bowser will deliver luncheon remarks to the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Later, she will lead residents and government officials on a community walk on a commercial corridor in Ward 7. The Mayor will also attend the opening of Officina at The Wharf.
  • On Thursday, Mayor Bowser will sign Councilmember Brandon Todd’s legislation to establish the Office of Nightlife and Culture at The Park at 14th. The Office of Nightlife and Culture will ensure DC’s night time economy remains vibrant, creative, and offers a fair shot to all Washingtonians. After the bill signing, the Mayor will attend the 2018 Local First Awards, which celebrates local businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists who make a positive impact on our neighborhoods.
  • On Friday, Mayor Bowser will attend the annual Chamber’s Choice Awards Gala hosted by the DC Chamber of Commerce. The Gala honors organizations and individuals whose outstanding contributions are making Washington a great place to do business.
