Recent storms resulted in a large number of power outages in the District, imposing significant costs and inconveniences on District residents and businesses. In response to the outages, the Mayor has formed a task force to provide advice on actions that may be taken to reduce future storm-related power outages, including the undergrounding of power lines. The task force is co-chaired by the City Administrator and meetings are open to the public.
