Performance Plans and Reports: Health and Human Services

The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services (DMHHS) supports the Mayor in coordinating a comprehensive system of benefits, healthcare, and social services across multiple agencies to ensure that children, youth and adults, with and without disabilities, can lead healthy, meaningful and productive lives. From navigating a global pandemic, to playing a leading role in our recovery, and now further pushing the District towards our Comeback Plan goals, the health and human services agencies’ mission is to bolster the health and wellness of all residents and visitors. We work to address health disparities, keep people housed and sheltered, expand access to physical and behavioral health services, and provide social supports among many other initiatives. To reach our goals we are committed to collaborating across the government as well as with the community to target the most pressing issues confronting the District.
